We had a very enjoyable week at the villa and Dahab, despite the understandable lack of tourists due to recent events in Egypt and some of the restaurants etc being shut. The view and balcony were lovely for us with two young children and the two bedrooms. The kitchen facilities needed some upkeep and the cleaning just ok.Staff at the hotel are helpful and friendly especially with children as were locals in Dahab generally.Did have to ask the staff to stop playing loud music one night but stopped after that.Restaurants were great and the beach by taxi 5mins with excellent watersports facilities.Villa conveniently located and easy area for prams/bikes/walking.
Owner reply:
Hi Terese,
so glad you and your family had an enjoyable stay at the villa and liked Dahab and its child-friendliness. Sorry that the kitchen facilities were not as good as they should be - and thankyou very much for sending me more detail by email. We will restock missing items and also consider adding an oven to the hob/microwave in the kitchen. I have passed on your comments to the cleaning staff as the cleaning could have been better than just ok and we are working to get it to a high standard consistently. The staff have also apologised for the loud music - now the celebrations accompanying the ousting of the government have calmed down I have been assured that the hotel is back to its usual quiet self.
With best wishes and hope to see you at the villa again, Sarah

We absolutely loved the villa. It was beautifully presented and felt like a home from home the minute we walked through the door. The terrace has the most stunning views and I must admit that we spent most of our holiday enjoying the gorgeous sunshine out on it! Cant wait to return!
Owner reply:
Dear Kay
many thanks for your review, I am very glad that you had a lovely holiday and enjoyed the villa and the sunshine!

The property was great I would only suggest installing a new shower as the one in the bathroom was not that great. Also some of the light bulbs didnt function but that is just a minor point.
The staff at the hotel were really friendly and we had a great honeymoon at Sea View Villa.
Owner reply:
Dear Chris
many thanks for your review, Im so glad that you had a great honeymoon, and congratulations again!
Ive passed on your comments to the villa manager and they have replaced the lightbulbs that were not working and replaced the shower head - Im sorry that these werent working properly during your stay, but very glad you had a great honeymoon nonetheless.
We do ask if guests can please ask the villa manager if anything breaks/needs replacing while they are there as wed much rather the villa was perfect for your stay (especially lightbulbs - the quality available in Dahab isnt great so they do tend to need replacing quite a lot).
with best wishes

A lovely villa, good size rooms with air con where needed. The view is what you pay for and its worth paying for, just stunning. The staff were also exceptionally friendly and hospitable, and I would definitely recommend to a friend. If i had one criticism it would be the food, but to be honest I was underwhelmed by the food in general in Egypt, the wonderful seafood being the exception (although you do pay more for it).
Owner reply:
Dear Dan
many thanks for your review, glad you loved staying in the villa. The seafood in Dahab is definitely the main draw, though there are some other restaurants that are well above the rest too. If you stay again then the staff at Seaview can be very helpful in pointing you to the best restaurants too.
best wishes

A lovely villa in a lovely setting. The perfect position, with a gentle walk into town. Great restaurants nearby. A great place to simply "chill out" and get into the Dahab laid back style of life!
Bob and the hotel staff next door were excellent, nothing was too much bother. Ayman and the Deep Blue Dive school were equally good with beginners and more experienced divers alike.
I would recommend Seaview to anyone looking for a relaxing and enjoyable time ( just dont nick the weeks that I want to go!!)
Owner reply:
Dear Gary
thankyou very much for your review, I will pass it on to the staff at Seaview Hotel. So glad you had a lovely holiday and hope you get the weeks you want for your next stay!
best wishes

Another lovely stay at Seaview, thankyou! The villa, the views from the terrace, Dahab, the weather, the snorkelling, the hotel staff were all brilliant as usual. Cant wait for our next visit!
Thanks again, Helen and Dave

The villa is in a perfect location, only a short walk to shops and restaurants etc. The villa is very well equipt with everything you need to cook and store food. The bathroom can become slippery when wet but you just have to be careful. The roof terrace is stunning and the views spectacular. The hotel next door is lovely and the staff fantastic.
The only thing I would suggest is a wardrobe in the second sleeping area. There were three of us and the third person did not have anywhere to hang their clothes.
Apart from this, everything is excellent and I will definatley recommend to friends and we want to return ourselves.

Hello Sarah,
This is just to say you that we appreciated very much the comfort of your apartment, its location and the overall "Dahab style" atmosphere. I hope that when we come next time in Dahab we will have again the occasion to stay at Sea View Villa,
All the best,
Nicolas, Polina and the small Anastasia :)

Property was very comfortable, staff were very freindly & helpful at all times & made us feel very welcome.
The views were fantastic, especially early morning & sunset.
Only 1 point worth noting - the opening onto the balcony has quite a high step down to the main balcony area so for our 1yr old, this was quite dangerous & we had to be very careful with him - some type of safety bannister across the top section would make a big difference or a ramp from top to bottom would reduce risk of small children falling & injuring heads.
Ohter than that, fantastic accommodation which we highly reccommend.
Owner reply:
I am very glad that you enjoyed your holiday in the villa and enjoyed the views!
The step you mention I think is the one from the edge of the decking onto the main terrace area. We do ask in our property listing that children are supervised at all times on the terrace, and have never found the step a problem with our own baby/toddler as it is quite a way away from the door onto the terrace. But I will whether adding smaller steps down from the decking is feasible.
Best wishes

Five stars! Thats for the panoramic views from the terrace, for falling asleep and waking up to the sound of the sea, and for the helpful staff from the hotel. You can walk from the apartment right into the sea if you like. The terrace is huge, completely private, and overlooks the sea. I can recommend watching both the sunrise and the stars from the terrace, and the coral for snorkelling is incredible.
The apartment comfortably slept five of us (four adults, one child). The beds, including the sofa beds in the second bedroom, were very comfortable. We mainly stayed close by the apartment and ate at the local restaurants, which are good value. On advice from the hotel staff we took a taxi ride to a secluded beach (taxis were very cheap) about 5 minutes away when it got a bit windy for snorkelling on the reef next to the villa. We also took a trip to climb Mount Sinai, again arranged by the hotel staff.
If you are looking for a relaxing holiday in a beautiful location, I can definitely recommend Sea View Villa. I only wish we could have stayed for longer were already planning to go back next year.

A beautiful appartment, perfect location.
The terrace is amazing.
The hotel reception organised taxis from and to the airport, which helped to make it a completely stress-free holiday.
We didnt want to leave, and are trying to work out how soon we can go back....

Lovely apartment, nicely placed out of the busy area but easily walk able to restaurants and shops. Staff in the adjoining hotel are friendly and helpful. Would definitely recommend.

All went very well at the villa: what an absolutely beautiful place!
Will definitely be recommending it to friends. Particularly impressed with the terrace and the fabulous view...and also the lovely furniture.
Mohammed was very helpful, and all the staff at the hotel were lovely.
Cleaning was a bit erratic, but fine for our needs.
Thanks for your help too

Great location, fantastic reef for snorkelling right on your doorstep. Good outside area fronting the property for kids to run around in, overlooking the sea.
Property is good with air/con and kitchen working well. Beds a little hard but ok.
Good beach 5mins away by the ever regular taxi services to and from. Very well looked ater by Mohammed, Havez and the hotel team.
If the nearby health centre could buy a different pan pipes CD, it may give more variety to their daily playlist, but volume not an issue so no major problem.
Owner reply:
Thankyou very much for your feedback, Im so glad that you and your family enjoyed your holiday and Ive passed on your thanks to the hotel team

updat e JUNE 2009:
The music from the beach holistic health tent should not be audible from the villa, as agreed with their management - if there is any issue with this please tell the Seaview Hotel staff, who will be happy to assist
Review submitted by Jane from Alton (Submitted: 24 Apr 2009)
The flat is a good size & the terrace lovely, with great views. It was a shame that the massage parlour opposite played Leo Sayer & similar naff music! All we needed was there. There is no need to cook as all the restaraunts are great & very cheap. It was a shame that the curtains had just been tied up rather than put on poles as we couldnt pull them in either bedroom, also the shower was pretty hopeless. There was loads of hot water & plenty of pressure but a hopeless shower head & no curtain which meant the water went every where. The staff at Seaview hotel were lovely & we were made to feel like fully paid up guests! The pool was a bit cold in April but very clean & ideal for our children.
Owner reply:
Thankyou very much for your feedback and your email - Im really glad you enjoyed your holiday.
Im sorry about the music - I just want to clarify that the massage parlour is not dodgy! (Egypt is a very conservative country). It is a tented area offering ayurvedic/reflexology massages on the beach run by the spa hotel next door. I have asked the management of Seaview hotel to ask the spa hotel to stop playing music on the beach. This area of Dahab is a quiet, family area and it sounds very out of place, we would certainly not appreciate that when we stay in the villa.
[updat e - the spa hotel have agreed to play their music quietly. For future guests please ask the Seaview Hotel staff to assist if loud music is played again]
Curtains - they are on poles and they should work fine - Im really sorry you had difficulty working them and wish you had asked the hotel staff to assist. I am not sure why they were tied back and have asked the staff to make sure that they are easy to use.
Shower - the bathroom is designed as a wet bathroom as is the custom in Egypt/North Africa. So we dont have a shower curtain on the inside edge of the bath. Im glad there was good pressure and hot water. Ive asked the staff to check the shower head but I think you mean that it sprayed rather than was faulty, but they will make sure that it is in good working order.
Im glad the hotel staff were lovely - Ill pass on your kind message as they really appreciate good feedback
best wishes

Lovely appartment and the staff at the sea view hotel attached were superb and couldnt do enough to help. Location was good although I usually stay at the other end of town in assalla village which is less windy in March but all in all the location was good. Close to the banks and supermarkets and some great restaurants. I would like to have had a small bedouin style seating area though on the outside tiled area as there were only 2 sun loungers which werent always practical, especially as I had a few friends round and the bedouin area in the corner of the outside area would have been great to smoke sheesha and chill in. Thanks though, had a great time.
Owner reply:
Thankyou very much for your review, and Im really glad you had a lovely holiday.
re Sun loungers/bedouin seating - Im really sorry that it wasnt clear that the hotel staff can bring up extra sunloungers/tables/rugs etc for terrace seating. I have asked the staff to make sure that this is mentioned to guests and I will also add a note to the arrival instructions email.
We really hope that guests will ask the hotel staff to assist with anything that would make their stay more comfortable - we want you to enjoy staying in the villa as much as we do!
best wishes

Great location at the quieter end of Dahab. Everything within walking distance. Staff at adjoining hotel very friendly and helpful. Villa was fine with very comfortable bed. Could be slightly better equipped, for example a table and chairs on the terrace would have been nice. Only a gas hob for cooking, no oven or microwave, but we ate out most of the week anyway. Plenty of choice of places to eat all within 5 or 10 minute walk.
Owner reply:
Thankyou very much for your review and we are really glad you enjoyed your holiday.
Im really sorry there wasnt a table and chairs on the terrace - there should have been, and Ive asked the manager in Egypt to make sure there are for future guests. Ive also asked him to look into getting a microwave.
Best wishes

Sea View villa is in a really nice location in Dahab, far enough from the main strip to be nice and quiet but close enough to have a nice stroll along the promenade to dinner. Its attatched to a well run hotel in which the staff are very friendly and do everything they can to help you.
The villa is well equipped and very comfortable with a stunning terrace overlooking the sea. It comfortably sleeps 4 but we actually slept 5 with one in the lounge.
We really enjoyed our stay at sea view villa.

Only put a heather in the winter it is too cold. Also my recommondation is to put an oven and or gas cooker.
Owner reply:
Thankyou very much for this feedback, we are glad that you enjoyed your stay in the villa.
We have now upgraded the electric hotplates to a gas hob (we have not included an oven partly for space and partly because there is not much oven cookable food available in Dahab).
There is a heater available for use in the property -we are very sorry that this was not clear and will add this information to the welcome pack in the villa.
In addition, we encourage guests to ask the staff at the hotel that adjoins the villa for anything that they need to make their stay more comfortable -the staff will do everything they can to help you enjoy your stay.
Best wishes
